Sunday Crafts - 10.00 – 12.00 noon

  • Sunday 3rd – Next Sunday is Mother’s Day – pop along and create a Mother’s Day card for someone special.
  • Sunday 10th – It was World Book Day on the 7th of March. We are making bookmarks with our favourite characters on them. If you would like your bookmark laminated, please leave it with the staff.
  • Sunday 17th – Today is St. Patrick’s Day. Design a handprint leprechaun picture to take home.
  • Sunday 24th – Next week is Easter Sunday. We are making Easter chick pictures out of cupcake cases.
  • Sunday 31st – CLOSED – EASTER SUNDAY
 Activities are free. Parents must stay with under eights.

Word Play Sessions
These free sessions are run by trained staff every Thursday morning.

  • Tot Rock – 9.45 – 10.15 a.m. – active songs and rhymes for pre-school children.
  • Baby Bounce – 10.45 – 11.45 a.m. – Gentle songs for you and your baby to enjoy.

No need to book. Please just pop along. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Story Time – Friday 9.45 – 10.15 a.m.
Fun stories, rhymes, and songs – this is a free activity. We hope to see you soon.

Lego Club – Tuesday 3.30 – 4.30 p.m.
Free play with each child been given a basket of Lego bricks to create designs of their choice. We hope to see you soon.

Morning Book Group
Tuesday 5th March at 10.00 a.m. The group are discussing The Mother by T M Logan.

If you are interested in joining, please contact staff.  The library supplies copies of the titles being read.

Afternoon Book Club
This group’s next meeting is Thursday 7th March at 2.45 p.m.

We will be discussing Maureen Fry and the Angel of the North by Rachel Joyce.

Evening Book Group
Thursday 28th March 7.00 – 8.00 p.m. The group are currently reading The Manningtree Witches by A K Blakemore.

Knit and Natter
These sessions are on Thursday 14th and 28th March from 2.30pm. You don’t need to be able to knit to attend – just pop along for a natter.

Tea/coffee and biscuits are provided. Donations towards the cost would be welcomed.

Scrabble Club
Every Monday morning from 10.00 a.m. Why not pop along and meet new people and have a game?
Tea/coffee are provided.

Suffolk Libraries Day – Saturday 23rd March
To celebrate this year, the library has a raffle with a signed pennant and certificate from Ipswich Football Club as the top prize. Tickets are 30p each or 5 for £1.00. The raffle will run from Saturday 9th – Saturday 23rd March with the draw happening late afternoon.
Maggie, the library manager, is taking part in a sponsored walk on the day with her husband and dog, Bertie. She is starting at Kesgrave Library and walking to all the libraries in Ipswich arriving back at Kesgrave before we close at 5.00 p.m.!
If you would like to sponsor her, please speak to staff.

Menopause and Me Support Group – Special Session - Thursday 7th March 6.30 – 8.30 p.m.
This peer led support group will be run by staff and Jen Evans, who is a menopause advisor. All sessions will comply with both NHS and NICE guidelines; and are for anyone who is affected by the menopause and its symptoms.

During this month’s session the group are looking at and discussing: Menstrual Health and all aspects concerning this underdiscussed topic e.g. endometriosis, cervical screening and heavy bleeding.

These sessions will offer practical advice, as well as be a chance to talk to others and get support.

Stay and Play – Every Tuesday 10.00 – 11.00 a.m.
Bring your little ones to our Stay & Play group for a relaxed and informal opportunity to meet other parents and carers, share experiences and chat.

Our Stay & Play groups are a chance for parents to socialise and give their babies and young children a fun, interactive play session that engages their senses and helps their development. These sessions are suitable for under 5s.

This event is part of our Me Myself and Baby perinatal support service. The aim of the project is to help reduce isolation and improve emotional wellbeing for new parents.

Warm Space  
Kesgrave Library is a designated warm space throughout the winter, offering hot drinks and a safe, welcoming area to pop along to and spend some time in.
Recycle Your Ink Cartridges
Did you know that Kesgrave Library is a drop off point for printer ink cartridges, whether used or out of date (apart from laser printer cartridges). Every donation of a used cartridge helps the library to raise funds.

Printing and Photocopying
You can print and photocopy at your local library. We can print A4 colour and black and white, as well as photocopy in A4 and A3.
We are also able to scan to email and enlarge and reduce documents.

Home Library Service
If you would like to access the library but are unable to visit us, Kesgrave runs three home library routes, where volunteers come out with a selection of books to your homes. To access this service, whether you are house bound, recovering from an operation, enquiring for a relative/friend or someone you care for, please ring the library 01473 626103 or log onto the Suffolk Libraries website and complete the online form.
