Suffolk Highways will be carrying out road repair works on: Tue 1 Sep on Penzance Road (from the junction of Oregon Road to the junction of Bell Lane) and Wed 2 Sep on Falmouth Close. Works will take place between 8am and 4pm.

Martlesham Parish Council is actively fundraising with a view to purchase Portal Woodlands, (adjacent to Police Headquarters and the A1214). There's now a temporary use ban (better known as a hosepipe ban) in place for our region. Until these restrictions end, you can’t use a hosepipe (or anything attached to a hosepipe, like a pressure washer) for watering the garden, washing your car or cleaning your patio.
This year the quest is running from Saturday 18th July to Monday 31st August. Launch: Saturday 18th July 11.00 – 1.00 p.m. & 2.00 – 4.30 p.m. Why not pop along to sign up to this year’s Reading Quest?

We plan to carry out road marking, stud replacement and marker post works along the A14 both eastbound and westbound between junction 57 and 62. We plan to commence this work from Monday 6 July 2026. We will work Monday to Saturday between 10pm and 6am only, weather permitting.

Portal Woodlands is a much loved local space used by residents across Old Martlesham, Martlesham Heath and nearby areas. With a section of the woodland now up for sale, Martlesham Parish Council has secured an Asset of Community Value status and triggered a moratorium to allow time for a potential community bid.
